NEW CHAPTER

AAY's studio space is closed...
Sometimes we need to turn the page and welcome a new chapter….
For more than 25 years I have run fitness classes. We used to call these classes aerobics:) For the past 17+ years I have owned All About You Fitness where I began to run retreats, do more small group training, continued to teach group fitness classes, and began practicing and teaching yoga classes. 7 years ago we purchased an old daycare where our family and friends knocked down walls, pulled out old toilets, built new walls, painted, laid new flooring, and essentially created our beautiful space. While in this building, we have continued to pivot, along with our AAY community. We got pretty good at pivoting!
The great thing about truly weaving fitness and yoga into our worlds means that as our worlds shifted, we could too. On some days, toddlers were at our sides watching our workouts. On other days, teenagers joined us on our mats. (My kids actually reminded me that the studio was a part of their life for “half” of their lives.) Many days we found ourselves laughing, sweating, crying, or simply escaping “real life”, in our AAY space. Not only did the walls of AAY provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for others, it did the same for me. I am so grateful for all the connections that this little building created.
I cannot even begin to thank our AAY instructors and the environment they fostered. These amazing individuals were invested in our vision; they created relationships within our community that are “forever connections”; they lifted me up when one more “pivot” seemed impossible; they taught with passion and acted with integrity. The words “thank you” hardly seem adequate.
It truly was an amazing chapter in my life; you will never begin to know the impact and inspiration you have had on me over these 7 years. I am filled with pride and gratitude.
I am not saying goodbye to All About You Fitness and Yoga, but simply stepping back from running a brick and mortar business. While focusing on my new teaching position, I will try to capture some high school moments of my own kids. For now, I will simply be taking a few deep breaths. I will build a new routine for my own wellness and figure out what pieces of the business I will bring back into my world. Retreats? Small group training? Team training? Mobility work? Online classes? None of this is off the table, but first, I need to turn the page.
As we clear out equipment and reevaluate things, we are truly excited about the next chapter for us - and the building. When you drive past our familiar corner you will no longer see our AAY sign, but you will see a familiar community organization settling in. The Boys and Girls Club of Olds & Area is expanding their space to accommodate a growing need for childcare in our community. Handing our beautiful space over to an organization that holds kids and supports our community is a perfect fit!
Thank you for your patience, your support, your smiles, your love.
