AAY's AMAZING INSTRUCTORS
Jamie-Dee Marshall (MA, BEd, AFLCA, RYT 200)
I LOVE everything I do and I am SO very grateful for it all!
I'm the proud owner of AAY. Our physical building is located in Olds, Alberta, although we regularly offer training and retreats off-site. I have been teaching group fitness classes for 25+ years. I try to instill realistic, simple practices in regard to physical energy, emotional well being and healthy lifestyles. I gain energy from others, however I have also learned to gain perspective and focus from within - yoga has been a hugely beneficial piece in my world.
I hope to share energy and knowledge with participants in a fun, challenging manner; life is about balance! I am always working to balance my family-life, my middle-school teaching life, my business life and my own, personal well being. I try to provide various approaches to breaking down barriers and prioritizing fitness and wellness so others can find their own version of "balance".

I’m the mom of two amazing girls and wife to a hard working husband so I understand how hard it is to fit in “one more thing” into our schedules. I am so lucky to be able to volunteer a bit of my time to youth organizations and I also coach my girls in soccer and volleyball. I am a huge supporter of kids health and wellness in any form, as a former athlete I know what it takes to be fit and healthy but as a 40 year old woman I also know the struggle is real!
I strive to give our members a great workout and a safe space where I can meet them where they are at.

I am excited to be a part of the All About You team. I enjoy fitness and all it has to offer. I am a certified AFLCA trainer in group fitness and portable equipment and a level 1 kickboxing instructor. For me, fitness has been my saving grace.... it started as just needing a break and it turned out to be the thing that would change my life! As a busy mother of two with a hubby who works away, I found it hard to make time for myself and have balance in my life. Once I discovered that making myself a priority was good for not only myself but my whole family. I would love to help others discover this in their lives as well.

Yoga has been a part of my life since my mom put me in yoga in grade 5, and I've been practicing ever since. My favourite forms being Vinyasa flow, Ashtanga, and Yin.
I have background training in nutrition, as a Natural health products Adviser, trained from the Alive Academy. I also have extensive training from Kimmapii school of Shamanism. I've been studying Inca and Blackfoot shamanism with my teacher Shannon and Marv Harwood, from Southern Alberta. I have considerable knowledge about chakras, healing trauma, and reading energy, which I feel compliments my Yoga training.

RYT 200 hr I’m the proud mom of 3 boys aged 20, 6 and 5. As a family, we love the outdoors and camping together. I love fitness and staying active, through weight training and HIIT classes but nothing compares mind, body and spirit connection that yoga brings to my life. I started my yoga journey in 2010 in Red Deer and developed my practice with Bikram yoga which I did regularly (through 2 pregnancies) until my family moved to Olds in 2014. In 2018 I decided to become certified as a yoga instructor so I could share my passion while continuing to develop myself. Helping people connect with themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually has been an honour and I look forward to evolving my practice and teaching others. |

My Yoga journey and inner adventure began in 2003. Yoga to me is about connection to self in the internal environment, nature and all living beings in the external world.I realized after 2 years of consistent practice that this was more than just a physical experience. I wanted to share this ancient practice of self realization with anyone I could. Since then I have received 4 different trainings in various styles. Those styles include Hatha, Ashtanga, Sattva as well as a multi-style 300 hr program in India. This propelled me to create my own yoga training and I just completed my first one in the fall of 2015.
I am a traveller and love to surf and be in nature. I have facilitated 4 Yoga retreats in Costa Rica and Peru. My style of teaching is very traditional Hatha based, incorporating alignment and safety yet allowing creative expression and freedom to flow within the sequences. Supporting my students to move out of their comfort zone and encourage practices of inversions, arm balances and core strength. My love for body work and anatomy filters through when I teach, I enjoy educating people on the body and the energetic anatomy behind it. The balance that is created through this practice is key, where you are dynamic in physical postures yet surrender into the quiet space within.

I am extremely grateful and honored to be joining the AAY team.
Yoga came into my life in 2013 shortly after welcoming my second child, and has been a staple in my life ever since. My daily Ashtanga practice has allowed me to open a path inward to finding my true self and has given me the strength and courage to deal with impermanence. Yoga has taken me on a journey like no other; initially it was a form of exercise to compliment my fitness classes and running, then transformed into a lifestyle. I find that I’m now living my yoga both on and off the mat and reaping its benefits physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I have had the pleasure of learning the practice under the guidance of my amazing teacher, attending many workshops, and recently completed my RYT 200 with the wonderful Aly Nind.

My goal in teaching yoga is to guide my students to finding ease and peace within their practice, offering modifications and variations for all levels of practitioners. My passion and dedication for yoga will be evident in the classes I teach. This moving meditation will challenge you physically while allowing you to bring awareness to your inner self. I feel that everyone and every BODY can do yoga.
